The caretaker boss played at the heart of the Montrose defence and after surviving the gale force wind for 90 plus minutes, he reflected on a job well done.

"Considering the conditions I have to be pleased. The weather wasn't kind but it was the same for both teams," said Hannah.

"I'm delighted with the attitude of my players considering I asked them to play a new system with three at the back.

"I need games myself as I haven't played for two and a half months and Chris McLeod hasn't played much either lately.

"I'm delighted with the clean sheet and with the fact that we scored two good goals at crucial times.

"Credit to Huntly as they caused us problems and had a couple of half chances.

"The weather dictated how the game went. I got a shout at half-time that the referee was out checking the wind and I was worried for a few minutes that he might abandon the game. It certainly wasn't ideal for playing football.

"I'm happy with 2-0. I thought Calum Smith was outstanding along with Scott Anson up front and Kevin Bradley was also outstanding on the right.

"It was important that we got the first goal and we managed to get the ball down a bit in the latter stages of the first half.

"Huntly had a go, but we were dangerous on the counter-attack with the pacy players we have in the team.

"I don't know if I will get this job permanently. I just want to try to put together a run of results and make sure everyone enjoys training.

"I am obviously in the driving seat and I have to grasp the chance with both hands.

"This is a great opportunity for me to get my foot on the managerial ladder and the setup is fantastic at this club."
