Baby born on "lucky" day

All new babies are special, but one baby born at the Montrose Royal Infirmary maternity unit on Friday may just be a little more special, as she was born on that most lucky of days 08/08/08.

Kara Beth Beattie came into the world at 1.43 am.

She is the daughter of Gillian and Jim Beattie, 1 Graham Crecent and a baby sister for Ava (3).

Gillian's original date was August 7, but she is delighted that Kara decided to wait until the 8th to be born. Kara weighed a healthy 8lbs 7oz.

Gillian and Jim are pictured with baby Kara.
