THE refurbished Dorward House was officially reopened on Sunday by the Lord Lieutenant of Angus Georgiana Osborne and the Earl of Dalhousie, who are both patrons of the residential home.

The house has undergone a £2.3 million upgrade and extension to ensure it meets national care standards, by providing 28 en-suite bedrooms in the main building.

The new extension provides an eight-place dementia unit which is already full and a four-place respite care unit.

The refurbishment and extension has been driven forward by the trustees who administer the house on a non-profit basis and has been achieved with the generous support of the community.

The Lord Lieutenant and the Earl of Dalhousie are pictured admiring a commemorative plaque.

Also pictured are Hester Howie, Chairman of the Governors and Bill Tulloch, chairman of the Board of Trustees.
